Kumon was founded by toru kumon, a japanese educator, in 1958, opening the first kumon math centre in moriguchi city, osaka. prior to creating kumon franchises, kumon had a job teaching at kochi municipal high school and tosa junior/senior high school.. At kumon, you don't attend a class in which "teachers teach you." instead, you will read the explanations on worksheets, practice oral readings, and solve questions on your own to master japanese. students use the worksheets and the audio material of their proficiency level.. Kumon offers a flexible program for professionals who wish to study and learn japanese but don’t have the time to go visit a learning center. i like kumon because i can study japanese at my own pace despite my busy work schedule..
Or maybe you’re better-informed than i, and you already know that kumon is a worldwide extracurricular reading and math program–the world’s largest, in fact, according to its website. here in okinawa, it also offers a japanese language program for english speakers (and one for portuguese speakers)..
