It is the best japanese language reference book out there, in my opinion. other than that, look through the "reference books" section of our beginner japanese textbooks, reference books, and dictionaries article. there are quite a few good ones! read: the best japanese reference books & dictionaries. So, if you want to widen your repertoire of resources for learning japanese and are tired of starring at a screen, these might be of use. check out my personal list for the best text books for studying japanese.. Pimsleur's tapes are okay for learning phrases, but they're waaay too expensive and do not teach you grammar. if you can afford to pay a tutor then do that, i would not recommend a book to learn how to just speak japanese. edit: the best books (or tools) for learning japanese are: a dictionary of basic japanese grammar - the japan times.
Reading material. learning japanese is a journey that never seems to end. at least for me, it doesn’t. luckily there is a vast market of neat books and programs out there which make studying the language a joy to do so.. Many people obviously want to learn a new language for the primary reason to speak it in its specific country. that wasn’t quite the case for me when i started to learn japanese. i always loved japanese films and the japanese culture itself but i wanted to be able to read japanese books and maybe play a video game in japanese.. The best book to learn the kanji remembering the hiragana and katakana charts is probably the easy part, the hard part is to learn 2000 kanji characters. in the first month of my 1-year journal, i decided to just temporarily skip learning the kanji for a while because it just gave me a headache..
